What we do

Triangle Freethought Society offers a wide variety of activities every month for our community.  A few are for members only, but most are open and welcoming to the public. Check the Calendar or our public Facebook page for location and details. We hold four regular events each month, plus other special activities—something for everyone!

TFS Monthly Feature

On the 3rd Monday of the month at the UUFR, we bring you an array of exciting programs:
  •  Speakers known and loved from the atheist/secular community such as David Silverman, Richard Dawkins, Annie Laurie Gaylor, Peter Boghossian.
  • Popular podcasters like Seth Andrews and David Smalley.
  • Special events like our Annual Festivus/Solstice celebration.
Most are open to the public for a small donation and free for TFS members.

TFS Happy Heathen Hour X 2!

As an active community we  appreciate having time together to relax, celebrate, vent, laugh, and meet new people over wine and spirits. 6:00 pm every 2nd Friday in Cary (Rally Point Sports Grill), and every 2nd Monday in Durham (Satisfaction at Brightleaf Square).  Everyone is welcome—bring your friends! See the Calendar for details.

Fun & Games Night

Our newest social event, by popular demand! Join friends new and old to hang out, play some games, doodle or color, chat and have some beer/wine and snacks. BYO food/beverage, bring your favorite game, but we will have some favorites there. TFS members and friends are welcome.  Held at Mad Science in Cary.

Good Works

We organize a number of service events for our members to take part in charitable activities, rallies, and community volunteerism. Examples are working at the Food Bank, dishing up food at local shelters, participating in Pride events, raising funds to fight cancer at the annual Light the Night walk, serving as abortion clinic escorts (to protect patients from harrassment).
